Faux Mother of Pearl Series--Part 1 of 3

My monthly stamping club does three projects each month focusing on a new technique. A few months back, we did Faux Mother of Pearl. It is technique that gives a pearl shine to the project. Many times this technique is used in the backgrounds and sadly photos just don't do this technicque the justice it deserves.
The first project in the series was a birthday card. The Faux Mother of Pearl technique was used on the background paper. The cupcakes were stamped onto scrap paper and punched out with the Cupcake punch. A few dimensionals and they really jump off the card. The pom pom trim was in the Occassions Mini and is sadly not available right now, but Stampin' Up! has a lot of brand new ribbons that they just added to the New 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. Check them out HERE.

To learn techniques like the faux Mother of Pearl, consider hosting your own workshop with family and friends or joining my stamp club.
