Stampin' Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the next stop on the Stampin' Addicts Winter Holiday blog hop.  We are featuring stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog for the upcoming winter season.  Many of you came here from Mickey's Blog and her wonderful Flurry of Wishes projects.  If you started here, don't worry, just follow the links at the bottom of this post to follow the hop.  It will circle back to the start so you won't miss a thing.  All of the stampers would love to hear your feedback, so please leave a comment on our blog.  You can also visit the blog hop chat thread to find links to all the blogs and tell us what you loved about the hop.

I am featuring the Reason for the Season Stamp Set on page 31 of the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  It is a 10 piece two-step stamping set.  My first project features the two-step stamping technique.  I stamped the outline image in Momento Black Ink and then the watercolor images in Real Red and Mossy Meadow ink.  I cut out the image with my paper snips and attached it to the tag with a few dimensionals.  The tag was made with the Ornate Tag Topper and Banner Triple Punches.  I tied it to the bag with a piece of Metallic Bakers Twine and dressed it with a piece of the Real Red Pompom Trim in the Holiday Catalog.  I made the cup with the help of a video on YouTube.  If there is enough interest I will work on a written tutorial.

For my second project I have the other great feature of this stamp set.  There are three stamps that coordinate with the Festive Flower builder Punch to make a beautiful flower.  I used them to make a poinsettia.  There are so many ways to use the flower.  You can dress up and decorate just about anything.  I used it to dress up a frame from the dollar store.  I printed off a saying from online and covered the simple wooden frame with Basic Black cardstock.  The poinsettia is made with Real Red Ink on Real Red cardstock and Mossy Meadow Ink on Old Olive cardstock.  The center is Crushed Curry and a Pearl Accent.  There are dimensionals between the layers of petals.

My last project also uses the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  After the holidays you can use the punch to create flowers in any color for other occasions.  Since this is a Holiday Blog Hop I wanted to use it for winter without it being a typical poinsettia.  Don't you just love the Silver Glimmer Paper.  And the lovely Designer Series Print is from the Season of Cheer DSP.  The saying is also found in the Reason for the Season Stamp Set.

Thank you for stopping at my blog to check out my projects with the Reason for the Season Stamp Set.  I hope you found some inspiration for your holiday projects.  The next stop on the hop is Heidi's blog.  She is going to show you some great things with the Your Presents Stamp Set.

Love the ideas you presented, Kathleen! The mug is just adorable and the simplicity of the decorated frame really makes the poinsettia stand out.

I love the striking-ness of the flower on the first card. I would have never tried black first then colored it. So very cool. The mug is great, too. The flowers are beautiful.
